What you are feeding your best friend might be killing them!

What do you feed your best friend?

The most common phrase related to food and health is "you are what you eat" wouldn't you think this pertains to our furry little friends as well?
There are many brands of pet food that have been marketed very well (as are certain fast foods & pharmaceuticals) ...the dog running, tongue out, happy face..maybe catching a frisbee...these images all trigger our brains to think that the brand of pet food they are talking about is safe and healthy. And so with those images in our heads and the desire for our best friends to be happy and healthy it is only natural that we purchase the product.  But they are not looking at the ingredients...

Unfortunately to our pets, nearly ALL commercially available dog and cat food is made with ingredients considered to be feed-grade instead of human-grade.  Feed-grade ingredients are lower quality than human-grade.
Feed-grade ingredients have allowances for toxins that are acceptable in reduced quantities in human-grade foods.  Meat 'meals' such as 'meat and bone meal' and 'by-products' come from the rendering process.  This "rendering process can contain dead animals from farms, ranches, feedlots, animal shelters, waste, grease, and other food waste from restaurants." (according to the National Agriculture Law Center) That's right...our trash and DEAD ANIMALS! Also, confirmed through FDA testing of dog foods, another contaminant that can come along with these dead animals is pentobarbital which is an anesthetic used to euthanize animals.

It has always disgusted me of what we as humans have been conditioned into eating ourselves.  I grew up in a small town, in the sticks!  A place where farmers market was everyday and the farmers were our neighbors.  We had personal relationships with our butchers and our milk delivered from a dairy.  You should have seen my face the first time I saw a chicken breast in a grocery store.  My mother calls them mutant chicken breasts, because we have never seen (growing up in farm land) a chicken that big...nor a turkey breast for that matter.  Now to find out that they are putting dead animals remains in our pets food?? Sadly our world is filled with people that don't mind sacrificing their health for convenience and bad people that are there to make profit on that convenience.

I love my Happy Cat to death and always want her eating the best and to have a long healthy life.  I feed her "Simply Nourish GRAIN-FREE Adult Cat Formula" she loves Salmon! :) But they have tuna and chicken AND guess what if you look on the back the two main ingredients are Tuna and Chicken, not "corn"!

Your pet may be shedding a lot, over weight, have sensitive skin, stomach off...these are all from what they are eating.  Switch your pets diet...slowly of course as to get them used to it.  Some of you may be thinking "but that food is expensive"...Honestly its the same price because you don't even realize that they eat less of the RIGHT healthier food.  Because there isn't a bunch of shit in it.  If you have questions on what ingredients to look for and watch out for I have listed them below.
